Itinerary
Saturday, June 11:
Walked about Pozzuoli and everyone had lunch together next to the Roman Market.
Boarded our boats (four in total) around 3pm. Then everyone had dinner together at Casa Mia on the promenade.
Sunday, June 12:
Sailed down to Sant Angelo at the southern tip of Ischia. Some indulged in a mud treatment at the natural spa, where they got covered head to toe. At dinner on board.
Monday, June 13:
Departed for Positano, where we did a stern-to mooring. Dinghied to town to explore.
One boat took a private boat to La Scoglio, which Stanley Tucci recommended, for an incredible dining experience.
Tuesday, June 14:
Took a ferry to Capri, where we first visited the Blue Grotto, then took the one-person chairlift to Ana Capri for spectacular views.
Wednesday, June 15:
Sailed back to Ischia but stopped along some caves for a swim.
Docked (stern-to and TIGHT) at Forio on the northwest shore of Ischia for shopping, Citara beach and the Poseidon Thermal Gardens. Everyone dressed in white and met for dinner at Zi Carmela. We were then able to see a parade and fireworks in town.
Thursday, June 16:
Sailed to Castello Aragonese d'Ischia. Anchored nearby, dinghied to the Castle, then toured it by walking up MANY steps. But the view was worth it!
Friday, June 17:
Sailed to Procida and anchored so that some could go ashore to explore the town. Then continued on to Pozzuoli, Naples. Subsequent days were spent exploring Mount Vesuvius, which towers above Naples, and Pompeii to stand on ground that was once destroyed by the disastrous eruption of AD 79.
