Learn to Sail

Giving the students a send off.

The Morris chapter of SEAS runs basic sailing courses for people interested in learning how to sail. Classes are taught by SEAS members who have been certified as sailing instructors. These courses consist of four evening classroom sessions plus two full days on the water in the chapter's own boats. The basic sailing fleet consists of Aquafinn lateen-rigged boats as well as  O’Day Javelin, Designers Choice, and American 14.6 sloops, a mix of boats that allows students to learn to sail both sloop-rigged (2 sails) and single sail boats on the safety of Budd Lake. Membership in SEAS is open to people who have either completed the SEAS Basic Sailing Class, or who can demonstrate equivalent ability.
