Suggested sailing packing list

Pack in a soft/collapsible bag:

Something like this

Apparel:

  • Rain jacket

  • Long sleeve shirts

  • Wickaway swim shirts

  • Rainproof pants

  • Bathing suits- suggest 3

  • Water shoes

  • Walking shoes or sneakers

  • Flip flops/sandals

  • Hat(s) include one that won’t blow off in the wind

  • Sunglasses

  • Sunglass lanyard

Comfort items/necessities:

  • Sunscreen minimum 30 SPF-reef friendly if possible

  • Lip balm with SPF

  • Bug spray

  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications. Please have prescription meds labeled with your name and medication name and dosing schedule in case of emergency

  • Anti-seasick medication- we suggest over-the-counter Dramamine (meclizine)

  • Toiletries

  • Beach towel- optional  (marinas provide, but might want an extra)

Miscellaneous:

  • Passport. Also paper & or electronic copy of your passport

  • 12 volt adapter “car phone charger”- Skippers will confirm boat voltage first

  • Waterproof bag

  • Camera

  • Water camera

  • Reusable, compact shopping bag

  • Thermal water bottle

  • Cash

  • Reading material 

  • Earbuds for plane

  • Playlists on your phones (boat will have bluetooth)

Boat supplies:

  • Spices

  • Snacks to share

  • Ziplock bags

  • Extra clothes pins

  • Rubber bands also come in handy for sealing food, etc

  • 2 large garbage bags (these are extras, just in case)

  • Hand soap for bathroom

  • Games

Suggested that you coordinate with other crew members or purchase at the local market

Boat provides:

  • Towels

  • First aid kit

  • Dish soap and dish towels

  • Matches/lighter

  • Toilet paper-may need to supplement

  • Fins, goggles, snorkel

  • Life vests-bring your own comfortable one if you will be wearing one for an extended period of time

  • Clothes pins: (usually there, but might want extras)

Skipper will probably bring:

Flash light (waterproof), safety harness, water gun, float ring, dive knife, flippers and booties, cruising guide, fishing spear/line, water camera, utility knife, gloves

Please do not bring a hair dryer as the energy it uses is too much of a drain on the electrical system.
